CM Yedyurappa have himself visited the airport area in Shimoga and initiated the work. He has also promised that work for the airport will be done so quickly. Also the design is like a lotus which is very attractive from the top. CM Yedyurappa has promised that the airport will be ready to work as soon as possible.

CM Yedyurappa while speaking to the press said that the work for Shimoga airport is runing very fast and we are expecting it to launch the next year. He also said that Shimoga airport will be the second biggest airport in karnataka. the airport is well survillenced fron now it self and a watch man is also kept at the entreance of the airport.
